We can help make your lawn look the best on your street, but on some occasions this also requires a little bit of work carried out by our customers too. FERTILISATION & WEED CONTROL

Fertilisation is the process of applying a granular lawn feed, which consists of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. This balance of nutrients ensures good growth quality and colour to the whole lawn. This treatment is applied from early Spring through to late Summer.

2 -3 times a year we will apply a selective herbicide to the lawn to deal with specific weeds that may be growing. In just a few weeks you will begin to notice complete weed destruction.

MOSS CONTROL & MICRONUTRIENT FEED

This is one of the most important treatments of the year, as it prepares your lawns for the harsh winter. We use a liquid root development fertiliser combined with a moss control; which will give your lawn a nice, healthy green colour whilst killing any moss in the process.

This treatment is usually applied at the end of Autumn and then again during the Winter.

OVERSEEDING

Overseeding is one of the most beneficial lawn care applications, but very few lawn companies provide it. We provide this service because after approximately 4-5 years, the grass plant will begin to age and the reproduction rate will slow down.

Overseeding annually will produce some major benefits as it ensures your lawn stays thick and dense. Areas of lawns that have become sparse over time will become thick again. Thick grass will have fewer weeds, providing that it is cut at a correct height.

Lawn

AERATION

Aeration is the most effective way of reducing sub-surface thatch and the compaction within your lawns.

Other benefits also include:

  • Moss reduction

  • Increased water and nutrient uptake

  • Better root development

  • The ability to cope with drought and disease

Aeration is an essential part of a good annual lawn treatment programme. Typically this is done alongside overseeding to create a place for the seed to germinate.

SCARIFICATION

Scarification is the removal of surface thatch from a lawn. Removing this thatch layer allows oxygen, nutrients and moisture to get to the lawns root zone. With less thatch there will be improved air movement, less moss and most importantly, an improved lawn.

TOP DRESSING

Top Dressing is the application of a soil or organic matter to the surface of the lawn to improve the quality of the soil over a period of time. The main benefits of this are water and nutrient retention, thatch reduction and improved drainage. Top dressing can be completed whenever necessary but generally it is done annually at the same time as overseeding.

LAWN RENOVATIONS

A lawn renovation involves killing off your existing lawn and re-sowing a new one from seed. This may be wanted if your current lawn is full of unsightly coarse weed grasses and you would prefer to have a lawn consist of fine turf type species.

This process involves a combination of chemical and mechanical treatments to achieve the best result possible.
